Learning healthcare
through patient care
I work part-time as a Nursing Assistant in trauma at University Hospitals. I took on the role to understand healthcare through direct experience with patients and clinical teams.
I support people through illness, suffering, and the end of life. The work brings science and thoughtfulness to the practical, human experience of care.
10–30 patients during a typical shift

Working on Farmatuya’s pharmacy operations, including the hands-on work of organizing stock.
Evaluating coffee opportunities
A site survey at a coffee plantation in Veracruz, Mexico, to understand its operations and assess business opportunities.

Construction and renovation work on a medical clinic while I owned and operated a carpentry business in Australia.

University Hospitals
Nursing Assistant, part-time · December 2025–present
Part-time work in trauma, supporting patients and clinical teams. I took on the role to gain direct experience of healthcare alongside my business interests in the sector.
Operations background
I have served in the U.S. Marine Corps since 2009 and am a Major and Logistics Officer. That work has included leading teams, managing budgets and equipment, and coordinating international operations.
Community
& advocacy
South Sudan Library Foundation
Co-founder · November 2018–present
I co-founded the foundation while completing my MBA at the University of Sydney. Working with friends and local collaborators, we helped establish a public library that opened in 2019. My work included fundraising, acquiring books, arranging transport, and engaging with government representatives on literacy and education policy.

English-language literacy
I helped set up literacy work for Iraqi children and participated in English lessons over Zoom.
Fundación Camino a Casa
I volunteered with Fundación Camino a Casa on fundraising to support its work rescuing women and girls from human trafficking, including sex trafficking.
International security & responsible sourcing
My lobbying and advocacy work has included engagement with police, UN representatives, military and mining authorities on security operations and ethical mineral sourcing. I worked collaboratively with the Democratic Republic of the Congo’s national police, the PNC, on community-oriented policing and modern policing practices. I also engaged with senior Australian government representatives about their mission in South Sudan.
Public health reporting
During an Ebola outbreak, I provided updates and information to the U.S. Department of State.

I co-authored a U.S. State Department grant supporting leadership training for 60 emerging African leaders.

I’m currently studying at Marine Corps University’s Command and Staff College, with completion expected in 2028.
