My business is 2 Retrievers, an Export Management and Holding Company. This business structure is essentially a conduit for me to commercialize great ideas, products, and processes through consulting, licensing, distribution, and investment.

-Elugen Pharmaceuticals
I launched this company after learning we couldn’t get the medicines we needed in Mexico, notably Sublingual Nitroglycerin, which isn’t retailed in LATAM but should—then built a combination product portfolio from raw API down to distributor.
Alfonso (pictured, left) started this pharmacy franchise in 2021 and is working on hitting 100 pharmacies by the end of the year.

SMHeartCard is a personal carry heart attack first aid kit that’s saved hundreds of lives through medication adherence and improving health decisions of cardio at-risk individuals. I currently retail this product on Amazon and sell it directly to businesses and governments. Published in the Canadian Medical Association Journal (CMAJ) and peer-reviewed for improving outcomes during heart attacks, I love everything about this product!

Volunteering Efforts
-South Sudan Library Foundation
In 2019, while working on my MBA, I co-founded the South Sudan Library foundation and, with the help of my friends, donated South Sudan’s first public library on October 1, 2019. The Juba Public Peace Library is a two-story building housing over 15,000 books and receives anywhere from 100-200 visitors daily.
The Kendita Initiative, founded in August 2020, is a non-profit educational organization working with a small cohort of multilingual African youth to provide leadership training. Our goal is to provide these young people with life skills designed to help them reach their goals which include: furthering their education, finding employment, starting their own business, or applying for further training or mentoring through programs such as the Young African Leadership Initiative (YALI).
A council of democratically elected members governs SUPRA. This council is responsible for all aspects of the post graduate governance and for representing 33,737 postgraduate students at the University of Sydney.
Service to School (S2S) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit that provides free college and grad school application counseling to U.S. military veterans and Service Members. I’ve mentored two veterans into university and absolutely love helping out where I can.

Captain, United States Marine Corps Reserves
I enlisted in 2009 and haven’t looked back, serving in active and reserve capacities. Currently a Captain with a knack for getting Marines the necessary supplies and services they need. Fun fact: I went from being a “trial training” recruit (almost attrited out of enlisted boot camp for poor bearing) to a distinguished graduate of Officer Candidates School (top 10%).
Education
I see education as a process and not as a transactional experience. As such, by focusing on the process of learning, I’ve gained more out of school. I invest and divest my time where I’m most engaged.
